Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts have stolen the spotlight at TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards, with 9 of their properties being introduced in the world’s top 1%. This award is based on traveller’s reviews and feedback and is considered the biggest honour that TripAdvisor grants to a hotel

Kayak’s division expands with new investment: Priceline Group, owner of our client Kayak, has recently purchased Momondo Group, for $550 million. It is expected for the deal to be wrapped by the end of 2017.

Business travel loses $185 million because of Trump’s travel ban: Remember how last week we talked about president Trump’s new travel ban, its consequences and the uncertainty that it has arose? It appears that $185 million in business travel bookings have already been lost.

2016 turned out to be a rather modest year for European tourism, compared to 2015: Although Europe is still considered safer than many other destinations worldwide, due to some tragic events and terrorist attacks that took place in 2016, overall tourism growth has slowed from the previous year (+5% in 2015). Iceland remains the top growth destination (+40%).

International travel to the U.S. returns to pre 9/11 levels: According to U.S. Travel Association analysis of the latest Department of Commerce data, 2016 has registered the highest travel exports level since 2000, represented by a total of $247 billion.
