In this live session with our VP of Sales & Operations, Manuela Erlemann, we discuss the trends and insights into EMEA travel and hospitality. We look at the most relevant data from our EMEA and DACH Review Insights Reports. Here are 3 key findings from our interview*:

EMEA was the leader of the travel recovery in 2021.

312.2 mln

million international tourist arrivals have been recorded for the EMEA region. This represents 75.2% of the number of arrivals worldwide.

With the highest number of international tourist arrivals, some of the key elements that contributed to the region recovering at a faster pace were the (1) highest vaccination rate in Europe, (2) the unprecedented growth of domestic travel, and (3) intra-regional travel for Europe and the Middle East.

Service, Hotel, and Management were driving positive reviews and increasing the performance score of a hotel in 2021.

We call them impact scores and they represent a series of well-defined categories that influence the performance score of a hotel.

Top 3 Positive Impact Scores Emea
Service, Hotel and Management are driving positive reviews.

First in our top - Service - highlights how much attention guests pay to the way they are treated by the staff. Hence, refining the guest experience remains a top priority.

Second in our top - Hotel - emphasizes that guests perceive more than ever the place they are staying at as a source of comfort, security, and relaxation.

Third in our top - Management - proves that implementing best practices within the internal team will also positively influence the communication with guests and ultimately, a hotel’s reputation.

Finding the right balance between technology and the human touch will be key in getting and retaining more guests.

Usage of Data and technology has proven to be the safe way to move forward and focus on what matters most: the human connection. Hospitality is all about emotion and creating a genuine connection with the guests. A people-first, technology-second approach will make your guests happier and more willing to return back.
