Asia-Pacific hotel bookings increase 93%, with 88% rise in China:

China bookings are on the rise and this is best shown by the data provided by Tourico Holidays, a business unit within Hotelbeds Group and one of the world’s fastest-growing wholesale travel brokerage companies. The findings show that APAC hotel bookings surge as North America, Europe, South America, and Middle East demand increases in 2017. Indonesia leads the Asia-Pacific market in annual growth, with bookings up 111 percent in 2017. China (+88% YoY), Singapore (+79% YoY), Malaysia (+78% YoY), Australia (+63% YoY), and Thailand (+39% YoY) have also seen a sharp increase in hotel bookings compared to last year.

KAYAK launches annual Holiday Travel Hacker Guide revealing top trending and wallet-friendly destinations for holiday 2017:

Our partner KAYAK looked within its billions of annual search queries to create its annual Holiday Hacker Guide. The guide is full of data-driven insights and tips from ranking the hottest destinations to ring in the New Year (spoiler alert, it's Guadalajara), the most affordable cities to fly to and the best time to book your winter holiday flights to help travelers plan holiday travel with confidence this year. The guide features three top ten lists: Wallet-Friendly destinations both near (within North America) and far (international) for those on a budget, Trending New Year's Eve destinations as well as advice on when to book to score the best deals.

Hotelchamp and Derbysoft combine to drive meta traffic to hotels and increase conversions:

Direct booking marketing platform and TrustYou partner Hotelchamp has announced a partnership with hospitality distribution specialist Derbysoft to boost hotel website traffic conversion. The two firms said the tie-up under which both will promote each other’s products “kills two birds with one stone” by improving both the quantity of traffic from metasearch and quality of conversion on hotels’ own-brand websites. Derbysoft co-founder and chief executive Ted Zhang, said: “We are pleased to work with Hotelchamp for our Metasearch Manager. “Our customers can benefit from Hotelchamp’s solution in terms of boosting more direct bookings on their brand .com.”

Namba Oriental Hotel in Japan Shows Impressive Developments In Scores and Number of Reviews Since Using TrustYou:

Snapchat lets users read reviews, book reservations:

Snapchat recently debuted a new feature within its mobile app called Context Cards. Users will now have the option to tag their snaps with their location, such as the restaurant, hotel, or movie theater they're at. When other users view that snap, there will be an option at the bottom of the Snap titled "More." Swiping up on "More" will launch the Context Card which will contain information such as the address, hours of operation, phone number, as well as information from other sources such as TripAdvisor, Foursquare, Michelin, and goop. According to TechCrunch.com, these Context Cards could help the platform evolve into a discovery and marketing platform that rivals Yelp and drives value for restaurants, venues, and destinations.  

Sabre launches first AI-powered business intelligence solutions for the hospitality industry:

Sabre Corporation has developed the hospitality industry's first analytics platform to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help maximize total hotel revenue. SynXis Analytics Cloud is Sabre's new data and analytics platform built from the ground up for the hospitality industry. Leveraging artificial intelligence, SynXis Analytics Cloud identifies opportunities for revenue and guest experience improvement and helps hoteliers avoid lost revenue by analyzing data from operations, finances, room-stay production, ancillaries and rate-room-channel configurations to deliver targeted actionable insights. A hotel user is also able to design and test different predictive models by choosing a variety of pre-built machine learning algorithms.
